Makes 9 portions.
Ingredients:
1 Quart Sliced and Sugared Strawberries
½ Cup and 2 Tablespoons Granulated Sugar
1 Pint Heavy Whipping Cream
1 Tablespoon Vanilla
1 Cup Unsalted Butter
4-1/2 Cups Baking Mix (such as Bisquick)
1 Cup Lemon-Lime Soda (such as 7-Up)
1 Cup Sour Cream
Directions:
Wash, clean and slice the strawberries and put them in a bowl.
Sprinkle ½ cup granulated sugar over the berries and set aside for at least 2 hour.
Pour heavy cream in bowl and beat at high speed with an electric mixer.
Once the cream begins to thicken, sprinkle in ½ cup granulated sugar and vanilla.
Continue to beat until soft peaks form. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate.
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Put ½ cup butter in a 9” round or square baking pan and place dish in the preheating oven until butter is melted.
Mix baking mix, lemon-lime soda and sour cream together in a bowl until dough holds together and is sticky.
Turn dough onto a floured work surface and roll dough in flour.
Make nine balls of dough, lightly covered with flour, and place them in the pan with melted butter.
Bake in the preheated oven until biscuits are golden brown, 10 to 12 minutes.
Remove dish from oven and melt ½-cup butter in microwave.
Brush butter over top of biscuits while warm.
Slice biscuits in half horizontally and place on serving plate.
Top biscuits with generous amount of sugared strawberries and juice.
Top strawberries with generous dollop of whipped cream.
