Cowboy Skillet Berry Cobbler

Makes one 2-quart skillet cobbler.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.


Berry Filling Ingredients


6 Cups of Berries of Your Choice

¼ Cup Water

¼ Cup Orange Juice

1 Cup Brown Sugar


Filling Directions

  • Pour water and orange juice into a 2-quart saucepan.

  • Place saucepan on medium heat and add berries.

  • Top with brown sugar.

  • Stir mixture together.

  • Simmer on the stove for approximately 10 minutes, until mixture just

  • comes to a boil.

  • Pour the mixture into a 2-quart iron skillet.


Dough Ingredients

  • 1 Cup All-Purpose Flour

  • 1 Cup Granulated Sugar

  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda

  • 1/8 Teaspoon Salt

  • 1 Cup Whipping Cream

  • 6 Tablespoons COLD Unsalted Butter, cut into pea-size pieces


Dough Directions


  • In a medium-size bowl, pour in the flour, ½ cup granulated sugar,

  • baking soda, and salt.

  • Whisk the try ingredients together thoroughly. Pour in the whipping cream.

  • Pour in the cold butter pieces.

  • Mix ingredients with a spatula, and then with your hands until the

  • mixture comes together into a ball.

  • Form ½-inch balls from the ball of dough and cover the top of the

  • berry mixture in the skillet.

  • Sprinkle ½ cup granulate sugar over the top of the dough.

  • Put in preheated 375 degree oven for approximately 20 minutes, or

  • until golden brown.


Serve the cobbler warm, and top each serving with ice cream flavor and

topping of your choice.
